We are having a poorly Christmas, bunged up with colds but still having a nice time. We travelled back to Otley in West Yorkshire on Sunday (courtesy of dad-mobile taxis).

I was reading Look magazine (at work for free) and I saw an article about Philomena. She was newly married and pregnant with her first child when she was captured by rebels in Liberia and gang raped. It’s an absolutely heartberaking and upsetting story. Philomena was given medical care by Merlin an organisation which provides vital health care and medical relief for vulnerable people caught up in natural disasters, conflict and disease.

If you have a spare fiver (or anything) please donate some money to Merlin. I’m donating some money, it doesn’t make me an amazing person but it makes me feel a bit better after spending money on presents for Christmas.

We went to a party on Saturday and this is what happened to the Christmas tree by the end of the night. It’s sporting an alternative topper – a Budweiser can.
