Well it sure is taking a long time to edit and upload all my holiday pics to flickr. When I finish it I may just find time to blog about the holiday. In the mean time life seems pretty busy with wasting time on etsy/facebook/flickr studying. I just started another OU course and the amount of time I need to spend reading has increased and the course seems markedly harder too. Still as my ol’ dad says I’m doing it to stretch my brain.
Work is pretty miserable at the moment. We get alot of abuse from customers because the prices are quite steep. When I see price in a shop that’s more than I want to pay I just go elsewhere but the majority of people I serve rage at me. I’m powerless to answer back and have to continue serving with a smile. Because the shop sells cigarettes I have to make sure I’m not selling them to people under the age of 18. We all err on the side of caution, asking for I.D. when we are unsure of their age. This makes the kids angry and we get alot of abuse for refusing to serve to people without I.D. I’ve even had one man come into the shop swearing at me because I wouldn’t serve his girlfriend who he reckoned was 19. She looked about 17 so it was a tough call as to her age but the onus is on her to prove her age. It resulted with her boyfriend calling me a cockhead and storming off. It sounds kind of funny now because I’m clearly not a cockhead but at the time it really reduced me to a bag of nerves. This sort of behaviour happens on a weekly basis. So you can see why I might want to leave my job. I had an interview yesterday but they rang me up later to say I was unsucessful.
Good news is that C managed to get his paws on a Nintendo Wii from amazon so we didn’t have to pay an inflated price on ebay. We’ve only got Wii sports but boy is it fun! I’m actually enjoying playing golf and boxing. Turns out I pack quite a punch. The best thing about the Wii is that you get lots of excercise whilst having tons of fun which is just the excuse I need to play more computer games. I can’t wait till Animal Crossing for the Wii comes out next year.
