dangerous occurrence

Something bizarre happened at work today which beats the ‘sheep in the shop’ moment. My colleague and I were both standing at the till, serving customers, and a pole fell out of the ceiling! This pole, we later found out, belongs to the architects above us. It was a very long pole with a sharp, pointy end. My first reaction was which customer has dropped their javelin? Then logic set in and I realised no one had brought a javelin in the shop but it had fallen through a weak part of the ceiling. Luckily no one was hit by the pole so the only injury occurred was shock.

Things like this only happen on Thursday.

organic fair

C and I visited the Organic fair in Ilkley today. All sorts of delicious treats were for sale, all either organic, natural or fair trade. We couldn’t afford much though so we settled on a cup of tea and a plate of scrumptious cake (carrot cake for me and a gargantuan slice of choclate cake for C).

I couldn’t resist buying a spotty headscarf.

wedding

As we are going to Steve and Miki’s wedding in Holland next month, I’ve been trying to find them a wedding present. So I got googling for ideas and found this:

Create a unique custom art piece made from a couple’s actual DNA! Just collect your saliva, send it off to their lab and they use this to make a lovely picture. Odd.
