grinny tanny boy

“Zhuzh! means Style, Glamour, Splendor, Sparkle. Don’t you deserve a little bit of Zhuzh!?”

I saw this very scarily camp, brown man (born white) on a shopping channel today, trying to flog his “Zhuzh”. It’s range of products made to make white skin go unnaturally dark in colour. Why anyone bothers with a fake orange tan is beyond me. I sure don’t want a natural one either, skin cancer and wrinkles are not attractive.

He was actually more orangy brown than this on the telly but this gives you a hint.

Anyone wanting to look like a tanned chav can buy their Zhuzh here

wedding

Congratulations to Steve and Miki who recently announced they are getting married next year. They are two lovely people who will be very happy together. I’m especially looking forward to the rumoured chocolate fountain which may make an appearance at the wedding. Fingers crossed!

everyone is poorly

Plenty of things have been happening in my life in the last two weeks but I just haven’t had the time or the energy to blog them.

C and I had a great holiday in Wales, the weather was a bit drizzly and it got cold at night but we had “mummy style” sleeping bags and each other to snuffle up to. I got backache from bending over trying to get in and out of the bell tent but I did manage to make porridge every day on my stove.

I got a kidney infection on my return home which left me lethargic and in pain. Just as I was beating that, I had to go to an interview for a bookshop job in Manchester. I don’t think I got it as my brain just wasn’t there in the interview.

At the same time my Nan was taken in to hospital (recently widowed) with jaundice. She’d cracked a rib earlier in the week and then the doctor noticed she was getting yellow and now it seems she has gall stones. They are trying to remove the stones without surgery as an operation has a 50/50 survival rate for someone with all her health problems.

Then I go and get a cold which, for the last week, has made me feel rough. I’ve lost my voice, felt grotty and now my hearing is not so good. I had to go to work with the kidney infection and the cold because as I’m part-time I don’t get any sick pay.

To me this dummy head looks like it used to be a man. S/he lives in a shop window in Shrewsbury.

camping holiday

C and I are off on holiday tomorrow. We are camping in Wales at Bacheldre Watermill -

“Campsite in the grounds of a working 18th Century watermill in lovely Borders countryside close to Offa’s Dyke and within easy driving distance of Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

The Mill is a working Mill, producing high quality organic wheat flour”

Hopefully the rain will hold off long enough so we can see the beautiful countryside.
