When one has insomnia why do people say “Try and get to sleep earlier.” erm the whole point of insomnia is that I can’t get to sleep. I am lucky in that I do eventually fall asleep, sometime in the day so I’m not somebody that goes without sleep for 5 days and then gets some kip. Unfortunately I can’t function on anything less than 4 hours sleep. If I have less than 4 hours sleep I start trying to get myself run over and feel physically ill.

I’m reading Death – A User’s Guide which is all about death oddly enough. It’s a “one-stop shop about death and beyond” discussing all the manky bits and beliefs such as reincarnation.

“William the Conqueror’s earlier embalming in 1087 was a disaster. His corpulent person swelled out of the coffin during the funeral service, two soldiers stood on him to squeeze him back in and broke his spine which puncturered his stomach, casuing it to explode with a load bang and a stench that drove the assembly from the cathedral.”

1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short? Naturally straight with a naughty kink, currently short

2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime? I was born with very little, this grew into perpetual bunches and alarmingly thick fringe, grew longer, got chopped off into a crop and then got dyed red

3. How do your normally wear your hair? It just is (with the aide of lost of “pliable pudding”?! and/or gel)

4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like? Long red dreads

5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened? I bleached my hair so the red hair dye I used on top would come out very red. It came out very orange.

Hmm theres something i have to do this weekend. Now what could that be? I’ve forgotten!

Oh yeah! I remember now! I’m driving up to Otley to be with the most wonderful girl in the world!

Thousands of copies of the long-awaited fifth Harry Potter book have been stolen from a warehouse just days before the book’s eagerly-awaited launch.
By the way the new Harry Potter – The Order of the Phoenix is being sold on 21st June (I know these things because I work in a bookshop)
