drug names

In pharmacology, all drugs have a generic name:

Tylenol is Acetaminophen, Aleve is Naproxen, Amoxil is Amoxicillin, Advil is Ibuprofen, and so on.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra, and announced that it has settled on Mycoxafailin. Also considered were Mycoxafloppin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Mydixadud, and Alimpdixafixit. And of course, Ibepokin.

unsympathetic doctor

Well I took some time off work this morning to go to the doctors. A right waste of time and money that was. I realise they can’t perform miracles but a little sympathy wouldn’t go amiss.
The docter thinks it’s not arthritis but has refered me to a specialist…which can take up to a year to get an appointment. So I said what I shall do in the meantime? He said take some aspirin. He was bloody useless.
I sais “so how do you explain the numbness, the stiffness and the pain?” He didn’t seem to know.

I think I shall make another appointment with another docter at a later date.

poorly fingers

I’m still in a bad way physically: my fingers are partially numb (makes typing fun), I wake up in pain with my hands (it kinda feels like cramp but it’s not), my right knee hurts when I bend it/put weight on it, my back kills oh and my knuckles are extremely stiff. I know I need to go to the docters again but it’s a bit hard when you finish work the Health Centre has closed.

amusing reader’s letter

I found this amusing reader’s letter in the Metro newspaper today:

I’ve just seen the new Star Wars film and noticed that Yoda hobbles slowly in public using a cane for support. However, towards the end of the movie, he abandons his cane to rush an evil Jedi with a lightsaber before launching into a series of high kicks. After the fight, Yoda picks up his cane and begins hobbling again. There can only be one explanation for this behaviour. He is fraudulently claiming benefit. Hopefully the Empire will clamp down on that sort of thing.

One of the quality items we have for sale in the Factory Shop is: a Westlife lap tray! It has pencil style sketches of the whole band on a tray with a convenient polystyrene bean filled bag underneath. Perfect for eating your tea on in front of the telly. During the advert breaks you can swoon over the “quality” sketches of your favourite band. The price of this rare and “beautiful” item is only £3.00! What a lovely bargain!

bloody hell

fuckky fuckky fuck fuck

I just knocked my full cup of tea over…all over the computer and mouse, an answering machine, a beige carpet and my dad’s antique carboretta leaflet (apparentlyworth something). The answering machine is now not working and the beige carpet is now a tea coloured carpet in places.

euthanasia

Today in the news it was announced that Diane Pretty, suffering from Motor Neurone disease died. I am glad she died because it was what she wanted. What is sad and disgusting that euthanasia is illegal in this country. It was her life and therefore her decision if she wanted to continue it or not. Unfortunately due to the nature of her disease she could not kill herself and therefore end her suffering. Credit goes to her husband who was freely willing to help her if the courts ruled in their favour. Sadly she was made to suffer longer and face the painful death she was scared of.
