Darwin and I went to visit the local horsey field and I picked a bag full of blackberries whilst he observed in the sling. It felt a bit like “extreme babywearing” as I had to dodge all the brambles as they seemed to be at Darwin head level.

This is what happens when your baby-led weaning baby eats blackberries. He didn’t seem to mind their sharp taste, I had to hide mine in icecream.

I have a new fetish – japanese washi tape. I’ve always had a thing for stationery, in particular Japanese stationery. Washi tape is a masking tape that comes in a range of colours and patterns – stripes, polka dots, grids or plain . It is easy to tear by hand, write on and doesn’t leave any tackiness behind after removal and can even be used again and again. Washi tape is translucent making it pefect for layering. It is ideal for colour coding, labelling, gift wrapping and collages. You can buy rolls and rolls of it on etsy and also at happy tape, cute tape. paper nation. This collector’s guide is for hardcore fans.

So apart from looking at it what can you do with it? Here are my favourites:

I saw these panda leggings on ebay and couldn’t resist, and it’s true he does love milk (from me).

Darwin is over six months now and has finally worked out how to roll over which still surprises me when I go back into a room and find he’s not on his back as I left him. I’m going to have to watch him like a hawk when he starts crawling. His first tooth is emerging which means my boobs are getting a bit nom nommed I take him off and say no firmly but he just thinks it’s a new game to play.

I’m sure you’ve all noticed it’s election day here in the UK! We are off to vote in an hour at the local youth centre. You may be having an election night party and the BBC has kindly provided a party pack of games and masks.

Maybe you should check out
What can you NOT do in a polling station? if you are a first time voter.

CAN I BRING MY PETS WITH ME TO VOTE?
Dogs may not yet be entitled to vote but they are allowed to come and watch as long as they don’t disrupt the vote. According to previous guidance issued by the Electoral Commission, dogs must be in an “accompanying” role rather than “free-range”.

CAN I WEAR POLITICAL CLOTHING?
“We wouldn’t want people coming in with overt political clothing,” says Mr Tonkin. However it is all about context. “There’s a candidate standing in Westminster as a pirate. And if he comes in to vote in a pirate costume as is likely, we won’t turn him away. The same goes for any supporters coming to vote as pirates.”

In case we do end up with a hung parliament find out what that means!
Vote Power find out how powerful your vote is compared to the UK average by entering a postcode or constituency name.

We went to an out of town Tesco supermarket on Saturday. I spotted a work colleague and spent the rest of the shopping trip trying to dodge her. I used to work with evil Janet who was such a bitch to everyone. She once commented, before I was pregnant, that I should “stop sticking my stomach out as it made me look pregnant”. I mean there’s just no need for such rudeness. I never told her how everyone at work thinks she’s an old, tangoed slapper. I couldn’t face her seeing Darwin or casting her eyes over my post-pregnancy body. It’s daft as I don’t really value her opinion anyway. I’m not going back to work so hopefully I’ll never see her again.
