boobs for babes, tits for tots

We took a trip to London last weekend so I could take part in a rather risqué experience. I heard via facebook that boobs for babes were looking for breastfeeding mums to star naked in their calendar. Boobs for babes is a non profit making project with all proceeds going to pro breast feeding campaigns and charities, aiming to help those who wish to breastfeed and educate those who have never considered it before. The calendar will show mothers breastfeeding their children to raise awareness of the issues surrounding breast feeding.

So I emailed for more details and then found myself booking a train journey to London and organising to stay at a friend’s house. This is coming from a woman who sees photos of herself and pulls a funny face. So to be actively putting myself forward for nudey photos, however tasteful, is a big leap for me. The shoot took place on Saturday at 11am in a private members club in Soho. There were about 20 women with babes or toddlers and some brought their male partners along. One by one we made our way to make-up, stripped off and posed with our baby/babies. One woman tandem nursed with her baby and four year old. Darwin decided that he’d already been fed enough and didn’t want to pose latched on and instead did his best grin whilst sat on my lap. I left his cloth nappy on as he tends to be a right piddler. We also had a group shot taken or everyone attending the day – naked woman and babies and clothed men! I understand there will be a bit of covering up of parts in post-production ;)

Miss Tamar was the lovely photographer and everything was organised by Rachael Grace Black who put us at ease and made us giggle. It was great being in a room full of breastfeeding mothers and I didn’t bat an eyelid about “getting my tits out” as sometimes I do feel a bit panicky when in public.

I’ll keep you posted when the calendars are available to buy.
