vegan lip balm

liporange.jpg

I think the more I apply lip balm the more I need it. My lips start to feel uncomfortable without it. Just as well my order of raw gaia sweet orange lip balm arrived in the post this morning. It smells and tastes divine, of oranges as the name suggests. I can feel smug too because it contains organic, wildcrafted, raw and vegan ingredients all caring for my lips. Comes in a dinky tin too. All this for £3.00.

You can get 15% off all raw gaia purchases if you use the code jlg but only if you order in June so hurry!

addicted to the editors

I’ve just hear The Editor’s new single “Smokers outside the hospital doors” which is fantastic. They sound so like Joy Division with added passion and less depression. Listen to their new album on their Myspace page.

I also can’t stop listening to The Arctic Monkey’s “Florescent Adolescent” the lyrics are superb:

You used to get it in your fishnets
Now you only get it in your night dress

Likes her gentlemen to not be gentle
Was it a megadobber or a betting pencil?

what the world eats

What’s on family dinner tables in fifteen different homes around the globe? Photographs by Peter Menzel from the book “Hungry Planet”. Fascinating to see the stark contrasts between rich and poor countries.

you take the high road…

C and I headed up to Edinburgh on Saturday and stayed for a few days. His sister is a student at Edinburgh university and most of her flatmates have gone home for the summer so we had a free room to stay in. We had a great time and saw:

some very cute dogs

this is my idea of a very gorgeous but slobbery dog

I gave him 20p to go and buy some biscuits

we visited the botanical gardens and saw some weird and wonderful plants

we stumbled upon treefest where we consumed delicious vegetarian food (falafels) and saw a tent made of felt

there were alot of ginger people in Edinburgh and this stereotype made us laugh
