I am still alive but I bought a Nintendo DS and my life has been taken over with playing Animal Crossing. It’s the cutest game in the world!
These are my two favourite characters

Went for a MRI scan (magnetic resonance imaging) in Leeds General Infirmary this evening. I was referred by an ENT (ear nose and throat) doctor last year to check nothing untoward (I’m guessing a tumour) is causing my tinnitus.
Took me about 15 minutes to find the MRI unit, like many city hospitals Leeds General is a big place to find your way around. On arrival I filled out a questionnaire to determine if I had any metal inside my body (from surgery) and then I removed all my body piercings (no mean feat). I laid on the scanner table and the radiographer tried to find a vein as she wanted to put a dye into my body to show up my pituitary gland. After much stabbing she couldn’t find a vein in my arms and had to use one of my wrists. Then my head was wedged tight with foam and I was given a buzzer to hold, to get the radiologist’s attention if I freaked out whilst in the scanner.
Up to this point I wasn’t really scared because I’ve never considered myself claustrophobic. As I was loaded into the machine I did feel uncomfortable as the space around me narrowed rapidly. Then it got really loud and noisy in the scanner which almost became unbearable. I just shut my eyes and tried to be calm. I think the whole thing took about half an hour. Let’s hope the results aren’t scary.
